Venue:  Tanjung Rhu, Langkawi Island


Race Events:

  • 400M  Octopus (kids)  
  • 1.5KM  
  • 4KM* 
  • 8KM

A swimmer could only participate in one of the events.  4KM* is a merit distance where a swimmer may collect for top 10 winning points in the series competition. 

4km/8km Swimming Course setup:

  • 4km loop,  4km will take 1 loop  and 8km will take 2 loops.
  • beach start/finish clockwise swimming
  • Easy navigation via Pulau Gasing
  • 8km cut-off time is 5hr 20min
  • 4km cut-off time is 2hr 40min

400m|1.5km Swimming Course setup:

  • Share the course of 4km/8km
  • swim in a loop course, 1.5km event to make a turn at 750M mark and 400m event to make a turn at 200m mark.
  • beach start/finish  clockwise swimming
  • 400m cut-off time is 15min
  • 1500m cut-off time is 60min 

Participant’s Entitlement: Certificate, String Bag, Post Race Meals, Timing and online result, Event T-Shirt, Finisher Medal, Finisher T-shirt

Qualification: a minimum of 1 time OWS experiences for the past 12 months. Any triathlon,Ironman, swimathon events, or monthly Swimon workshop/training can be counted.  Contact Technical director for further query or justification.

 

Safety: The course is patrolled by safety crafts and life guards. Participants should be adequately trained for open water swims of this length. All swimmers must wear the provided swim cap. Wearing safety buoy is mandatory.   

 

Race result: The winners time in each category will be published immediately onsite but the rest will be provided within 24 hours via www.malaysiaopenwaterswimming.com

 
The race book (details of event) will be distributed within 2 weeks before the race date.
